Douglas Meyer is the Music Director and Conductor of the Pennsylvania Centre Orchestra. His guest conducting invitations include the Bohuslav Martinu Philharmonie, Czech Republic; Kurpfälzisches Kammer Orchestra, Mannheim; Altoona and Spokane Symphonies, and in 2005 a Latin-American debut with the State of Mexico Symphony Orchestra, Toluca, Mexico. Dr. Meyer has conducted orchestras in Budapest, Prague, Paris, Munich and Vienna.

At the Embassy of France in Washington, D.C. Meyer conducted the world premiere of "Paul & Virginie" libretto by Jean Cocteau and music by Charles Kalman. His repertoire includes more than 350 orchestra, opera and oratorio works.

Douglas Meyer has studied with such eminent conductors as Pierre Boulez in Switzerland, Otmar Suitner at the Mozarteum in Salzburg and Erich Kunzel and Max Rudolf at Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music. He is an innovative and exciting conductor open to new artistic endeavors.

The Pennsylvania Centre Orchestra, now in its 17th season, presents a full season of classical concerts in the State College area.
