Location

Thank you for visiting the website of the Bedford Summer Music Festival.

From 1982 to 1989 a music festival was held every summer at the Bedford Springs Resort. Artists from all over the world performed in concert there. We are delighted to have inaugurated a new summer concert series in 2007 in the same tradition and the same Pennsylvania county, but in a different location. This summer we will again have our concerts under the Festival tent at the picturesque living history site Old Bedford Village. We will hold two concerts in July 2009:

July 11 – Pittsburgh’s famed River City Brass Band will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. The mission of the River City Brass Band is to revive and keep alive the grass-roots tradition of the American brass band. Every performance features the witty and insightful commentary of Music Director and Conductor Denis Colwell.

July 25 – The Pennsylvania Centre Orchestra, which delighted audiences last summer, will return with a program featuring Handel’s Water Music, Bach’s Violin Concerto in A Minor, Mozart’s Cassation No. 2, and Schubert’s Symphony No. 5.
